My trip to the capital of Malaysia, Kuala Lumpur

Kuala Lumpur is a city that I adore and abhor. I adore it because it is sort of like New York City, with lots of shopping malls. I abhor it because there are just too many cars and rude people (of course not everyone in KL is like that, but I have met enough to dislike the city). This time when Leighton and I visited the city, we stayed in a decent hotel in Petaling Street. Petaling Street is famous for all of the knock off name brand stuff they sell. There are many stalls that sell fake LV, Chanel, Gucci, and all that. There are tons of pirated DVDs and CDs as well. Of course, people sell food there too. Everytime I went there, I was just so fascinated with all of the bags (I am a "bagaholic") they have there. Though I would often leave the place empty-handed, I always wished, after I came back home, that I had bought at least 5 bags from the street.

Anyways, we went to Genting Highland park this time. We were in the theme park for most of the day. It's pretty fun, though some rides looked fun but were actually pretty boring. We didn't go to the casino since we don't gamble for fun. It was fun to just go around the park with Leighton cause he made waiting in line more bearable.

The Petaling Street after all the hawkers are gone.

A Hindu temple. My first time entering one.

Hi Sharon,

Thanks for the pics. You do a better job of keeping us informed than leighton does. Where are you living? How far is that from KL? Are you guys doing OK? Are you still planning on coming back to the states in Feb 2009? Wish you guys the best.
