Batman, my hero.
Out of the three super heroes: Superman, Spiderman, and Batman, my favorite hero is Batman. I don't know what this says about me psychologically. If you know a psychological quiz of some sort about favorite heroes, let me know. I like Batman because he is not an alien with extraterrestrial power, nor is he a DNA mutated university student with the gift of eight-legged (insect?) creature. He is just a normal man. Also, he is a super duper rich business man with a creative mind (How can anyone not laud the vehicle he designed? and the oh-so-macho suit with wings?) and a righteous heart.
I have never read any comic books about Batman. I watched every Batman movie, however. My favorite Batman movie is "Batman Returns", starring Michael Keaton. If you have not seen it, GO SEE IT! It was made in year 1992. Cat woman was in it too!
I was watching Batman: The Dark Knight last night. I watched it twice this week. And I got teary eyed towards the end both times. Batman told Gordon that he would take upon himself all of the murder crimes of the cops that were committed by Harvey Dent so that Joker's evil purpose would not be achieved and people would continue to think of Dent as a hero. Batman did what he did because he believes, "Sometimes, truth isn’t good enough. Sometimes people deserve more. Sometimes people deserve to have their faith rewarded."
I think you would agree with me that what Commissioner Gordon said in the last line of the movie is truly a classic! When the police started hunting for Batman, the astounded Gordon, watched as Batman took off running, said, "Because he's the hero that Gotham deserves, but not the one it needs right now... and so we'll hunt him... because he can take it... because he's not a hero... he's a silent guardian, a watchful protector... a Dark Knight."
