Story # 253: I know My Savior Loves Me

As you all know, I am a LDS (Latter-Day-Saints or a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day-Saints). About 8 months ago, Mr.L and I were called to serve in the nursery of our ward/ branch. We had a ton of fun playing toys with the kids, giving them snacks, teaching 5-minute lessons, do coloring, and taking them to potty. I loved my calling so much! Spending 2 hours with the kids while their parents are in the Sunday school and the Relief Society and Priesthood meeting was a blast for me. The kids made me feel exhausted, but they have given me so so so much joy.

In the beginning of this year, we were called to serve the Sunbeams (3 year old kids). Most of the kids that were in the nursery with us became Sunbeams this year. I am soooo happy to be able to teach the same group of energetic and angelic children. They are so precious to me and I really really love them.

This year in the sharing time, we are learning a new song in the primary. The song is called "I Know My Savior Loves Me," composed by Tami Jeppson Creamer & Derena Bell. I love it so much, especially when the children are singing it. It brought tears to my eyes every Sunday during the sharing time.

Here's the lyrics:
A long time ago in a beautiful place,
children were gathered 'round Jesus.
He blessed and taught as they felt of His love.
Each saw the tears on His face.
The love that He felt for His little ones
I know He feels for me
I did not touch Him or sit on his knee,
Yet Jesus is real to me.

Now I am here in a beautiful place,
Learning the teachings of Jesus.
Parents and teachers will help guide the way.
Lighting my path ev'ry day.
Wrapped in the arms of my Savior's love,
I feel His gentle touch.
Living each day, I will follow His way,
Home to my Father above.

Chorus:
I know He lives!
I will follow faithfully.
My heart I give to Him
I know that my Savior loves me.

To hear the song, go here.

I feel that this song isn't just meant for the children. It is meant for me too. I am also a child of God and Jesus loves me too. Even though I have never seen Him, hear Him speak, or touch Him, I know that He is real. I know that He lives and watches over me. It is my faith in Him that helps me through the tough decisions and choices in my life. He brings me hope and sacrificed for me because He cares! Therefore, I will follow Him, do the things that He did when He walked the earth.

This is my simple testimony, in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.
