I wanted to make some cake pops for the baby shower but they didn't turn out as good as I had hoped. I think I might have made them too big, so they started falling down the lollipop sticks when I lifted them up straight. I was gonna dip the cake pops in melted white chocolate chips but it failed big time. First, I did not think that melting chocolate chips could be so hard. Seriously, I was at my wits end and started crying when I burnt the chocolate chips on the stove (after I had tried melting them in the steamer and the oven). Mr.L used the rest of the leftover chocolate chips and went to our neighbor's house downstairs to use their microwave (yeap, we don't have a microwave. Don't ask me why, I don't know why we never got one. I guess we just never really needed one until that day). He too, burned the chocolate chips and left our neighbor's house in smoke (well, he actually went back and helped clean up). The moral of the story, chocolate chips are IMPOSSIBLE to melt! Luckily, Lydia had some melt-able white chocolate chunks at her house and I was able to decorate my cake pops in the end. And guess what? I forgot to take pictures of my cake pops! All the work and no pictures!!!!
Apart from eating all the good food, having a great time, and admiring the fruit baby stroller Lydia made, we made a quilt for the baby. It was strangely addicting! We were just there tying three pieces of cloths together and it felt fun. Weird, huh? I had no prior experience in making quilts before so it was a new experience for me. I got a lot of other presents too! Happy day!
This is the cutest thing I've seen!
My cake pops before the sprinkles.
My friend from Hong Kong and her daughter putting thumb prints on the "hot air balloon" art I made.
Me and Lydia and the food we made
My friend from Malaysia and me making the quilt
Spot the cake pops after the sprinkles? A little better. haha... Oh, the white cake stand behind the cake pops was made by yours truly. Glue a plate from D.I to a candle holder from D.I.
All of my lovely friends.
The hot air balloon favor I brought home.
I am so blessed, my mother-in-law is hosting another baby shower for me in Toquerville in two weeks! I can't wait to go to that one and see some friends I haven't seen in a long time. If you haven't gotten the invites , I am pretty sure they are on their way. So I'll see some of you there in two weeks. BTW, this is our baby registry. If you feel like it, you could go check it out and get a little something for Liam :) or me (hehe...).

I got the invite! But I don't think I'll be able to make it. =( No one in my family is even going to be in St.George that weekend.
Don't worry though, I'm making a great gift. =) And buying one in case the homemade gift doesn't work out. Haha.
Good thing you only chose Jackson for the middle name because that's what we're going to name our first baby! ;) looks like so much fun - I wish I could be at the shower in a couple weeks!
