This year has been one of the best years of my life. Whenever I felt overwhelmed, a giggle he gave or a touch from him immediately melted away all the weariness that was bringing me down. I cannot thank him enough for making me his mother. My life has transformed and I finally understand the love that knows no bound.
How can one year pass by so fast? How can my Liam boy grow up so fast? Those are the questions I wonder all the time. I truly have to slow down, and spend as much time as I can with him, because those moments are the sweetest and are what truly matter.
Liam learned to wave goodbye recently. He waves goodbye to people all the time and it's just the cutest thing! Of course he babbles a lot and non-stop. He just says, da-da-da-da-da-da and a-a-a-a-a all the time. Walking and exploring is his favorite. I let him walk as much as I can, like from our apartment to the car, or from the car to the mailbox. He does it so well and I just love watching his feet pitter-pattering on the ground.
I think that sometimes when I thought that he was talking, he was actually singing, like he babbles while watching Barney. He also dances. Everytime the theme song to 'Barney' comes on, he shakes his body and bends and unbends his knees. It's so entertaining to watch him moves along to the music.
Pretty soon, his birthday is going to be over and he wouldn't even know how this day is different from the rest, but I will remember. I will remember how my son looked when he woke up in the morning to be greeted by both his mom and dad singing Happy Birthday to him. I will remember the sweet smile of this one year old and how his giggles sound like.
I love you so much, my dearest Liam. Happy Birthday to you, sweet boy.
